About the client

Founder Ralph Wilms has been working as a coach and seminar leader for over 30 years. His seminars support companies and managers in individual coaching and in working with teams, as well as in building a culture of mindfulness.
He has been a faculty member at the ZfU Business School Zurich since 2002 and teaches in the Personality Development, Awareness and Stress Management Department.

Starting position

The existing seminar offer is to be supplemented with a newly developed mobile app. The app supports the user in learning and applying meditation techniques. Distribution is handled by means of in-app purchase.
The project team at Silence Finder GmbH consists of several people: coaches, marketing experts and technicians.
During the market launch, the project team is confronted with stagnating installation figures and challenging technical difficulties.
In this important project phase, App Manufacture, an experienced partner, is engaged to ensure the success of the project.

The outcome

After taking over the project on 18 May 2018, the number of active installations increased tenfold within three months.
The close and intensive cooperation with the client’s project team was decisive for this result.
User feedback was received by the customer support team and directly incorporated.

While the focus in the first phase was on stabilisation measures and problem solutions, improvements were increasingly incorporated in a second phase (better usability, new marketing concept, new design concept).
The viral spread thanks to positive customer reviews was optimally supplemented and increased by an online advertising campaign.

Our achievements

The key to a successful market launch and viral spread is user acceptance. For a positive user experience, the criteria of stability, usefulness and aesthetics are crucial. To implement these criteria quickly and efficiently, a systematic approach is important:

  • Workshop on the topic of customer needs using the Value Proposition Canvas
  • Take over of the technical lead
  • Rapid solution of technical problems / stabilisation of the app
  • Verify and improve usability (usability engineering)
  • Technical implementation of a new marketing concept (free trial period)

Further steps

After the successful launch (project phase 1) and the positive user feedback, the project was iteratively advanced and further value was added:

  • Development of a completely native app for iOS for an even better user experience
  • Complete redesign of the user interface
  • Addition of new mediation types
  • Continuous development and improvement
